Deceased had lived the life of a hermit. He was a native of Germany and was well educated. Of all his acquaintanceship he had no enemies and was an honest, upright citizen.
The funeral, in charge of his friends, took place Tuesday forenoon and the remains were placed in the vault he had built for his brother and himself some weeks since, in the Silver Cliff Cemetery.
It is understood that the old gentleman possessed some money which by his will goes to the Ackelbein school after his funeral expenses have been paid.
