SHORTS CREEK — Sebert Leonard Alley, 71, who resided in the Pine Grove community near here, died unexpectedly at his home early Tuesday morning, November 10, 1964.
He was born in Carroll County February 10, 1893, to Hezekiah Alley and wife, Mrs. Violet Colson Alley.
He was employed by Vaughan Furniture Co., Galax.
Surviving Mr. Alley are his wife, Mrs. Sadie Taylor Alley; three daughters, Miss Earlene Alley and Mrs. William Singleton, both of Perryville, Md., and Mrs. Hazel Brannon, Pulaski; five sons, Sidney Alley and Elmer Alley, both of Perryville, Md.; Claude Alley, Austinville; Ray Alley, Pulaski, and Raymond Alley, High Point, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Susie Hawks, Austinville; thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00a.m. Thursday, November 12, at Shorts Creek Church of God by the Rev. O.S. Shreve, the Rev. Hubert Austin and Elder Ray Rotenizer.
Interment was in Coulson Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The body was removed to the residence from Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home, Hillsville.
