I believe this is John A. DeWitt born or baptized Nov 15, 1753, since have his death date that matches, and age. Son of Andries Egbert Dewitt M.D. Mother Jenetigi Vernooy. He had two wives. 1st Magdalena Bevier (1859-???) married 1784, one known son Luke born 1789. 2nd Maria Vernooy (???-1855) married Jan. 11, 1851. One known son Nathan born (1804-1878) Request for Son of Rev. has his name listed as Wathan(type-o). Only other history I have on him is:
John A. DeWitt signed Revolutionary Association Pledge, July 6, 1775. Historical Manuscripts relating to War of Revolution. Vol. 1 page 27. Served as Ensign in Captain James McBride's Company, Ulster, County Militia 1778. And On Feb 3, 1794, John A. DeWitt, a blacksmith and grandson of Egbert DeWitt of Napanoch, became the sole owner of much of what is today's Ellenvill. He owned from the Beerkill to near the village line to the south and from the Shawangunk Mountain to the village line on the West.
