She was predeceased by her husband, retired Brig. Gen. C. Mabry Edwards; her son, Vincent Lee Edwards; sisters, Virginia Powell Parfitt and Jean Vivian Powell; and parents, Gertrude Kiser Powell and Elbert Eugene Powell.
June was born on Aug. 14, 1920, in Hastings, Fla. She and Mabry were married on Sept. 13, 1941, in Jacksonville, Fla., where they lived for many years until retiring to their home at Crescent Beach.
She is survived by her son, Mabry Edwards Jr., and wife, Linda; her daughter, the Rev. Susan E. Henderson and husband, Robert Page; grandchildren, Tracy, Brian and Kevin Edwards and Graham Henderson, Katherine Dickey, Kimberly Whitfield and Andrew Edwards; seven great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway, St. Augustine. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Craig Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Craig Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus Assisted Living Facility, St. Augustine, for their excellent care and compassion.
