Algernon Bassham passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Yantis on June 27, 1917. Later she moved to Centerville and then spent many years living in the Polytechnic area of Fort Worth. She had a selfless dedication to her family and taught everyone she knew how to really love, because she generally loved everyone. She was an unassuming, undemanding and sweet Southern lady who always maintained a positive outlook on life. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors: Her son, Jerry D. Bassham; daughter, Barbara Ann Lee; "half" daughters, Arlene Bessent and Judy Hargrove; sisters, Ira Dell Bell and Jackie Franks; brother, Mac Newsome; grandchildren, Heather Lee, Robbie Lee, Brian Bassham, M.D., and Brittany Bassham; and two beloved great-grandchildren.
