Mr. Aldridge, born Dec. 14, 1937, in Perry County, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and worked for over 40 years as a towboat captain. When he was home, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends camping on the Buffalo River.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Kilpatrick Aldridge; daughters, Bobbie Childress, of Henderson, and Angel Young, of Summertown; special son, Bubba Cryer, of Dover; sisters, Ruby Gregory and Lou Ann Fleet; brothers, Frank Aldridge and Lee Aldridge Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon, Stacy and Tony Childress, Bryan and Bobby Lambert, and Season Hughes; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Myers; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Brylie, Bobby, Dallas and Brooklyn; and aunt, Delila Byrd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Fernie Aldridge and Beulah Mae Russell Aldridge.
