Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Kathleen Brown Mosley, age 95 of Twin City, GA on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Emanuel Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Twin City First Baptist Church where she was a member for over 60 years, with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating and Rev. Max Rodgers Jr. assisting. The family will receive friends at the Twin City First Baptist Social Hall on Monday from 12:30 PM until time of service. Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Steve Bishop, Roy Joe Rountree, Bill Mathis, Dr. Lee Rountree, Lawrence Atkinson, Mosco Dawkins, Shannon Phillips, and Jay Storti.

Mrs. Mosely was born on July 24, 1920 in Emanuel County near Canoochee to Edward C. Brown and Rosa Phillips Brown. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 52 years, Joe L. Mosley, and her brother, Edward C. Brown, Jr.

Kathleen was a graduate of Emanuel County Institute, ABAC, and the University of Georgia. She earned a Master of Science Degree and an Educational Specialist Degree in science at Georgia Southern University. She taught for 30 years and retired from E.C.I. as the only high school science teacher. Her enthusiasm and love of education inspired thousands of students throughout her career.

Over her lifetime, she was an active member of the Adam Brinson DAR chapter, Glad Garden Club, Ida Belle Williams Book Club, ECI PTA, and Emanuel County Retired Teachers Association. At her church, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Girls Auxiliary and was active in WMU.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-Law, Kathy M. McLendon of Johnson City, TN, Rose M. Applegate (Richard) of St. Simons Island, Amy M. Chambless (George) of Oxford, and Cynthia M. Storti of Kingsland; five grandchildren: Monica M. Jones (Randy) of Johnson City, TN, Adriane C. Brower (Michael) of Patchogue, NY, Danner R. Chambless of Durham, NC, Frank J. Storti of Gainesville, FL, and Anna Lea Storti of Portland, OR;
four great-grandchildren: Spencer Wilson and Libby Jones of Johnson City, TN and Aiden and Owen Brower of Patchogue, NY.
