Malinda Elizabeth "Linnie" Norman was born 29 March 1901 in Arkansas--most likely in Baxter County--to Thomas Hill "Tom" Norman and Hester A "Hettie" or "Hattie" Sutterfield. She was the eldest of their three children.

On 28 May 1915--at the age of just 14 years old--Linnie was married to Joseph Glen Williams in Baxter County, Arkansas. I do not know who his parents were but according to several records he went by his middle name of Glen and this was his second marriage. To their union three children were born: Walter M "Willie" (b. 1919; d. 1975), Fern Marie (b. 1922; d. 2006) and Waco (b. 1924; d. 1986).

Glen passed away on 26 July 1925 from complications of face cancer. He was laid to rest in the Table Rock Cemetery in Baxter County, Arkansas.

Linnie married for a second time on 26 January 1926 to Benjamin Franklin Foster in Baxter County, Arkansas. This was also a second marriage for him. At the time of their union, Ben had three living children from his previous marriage: Lotus Armston (b. 1911; d. 1996), Virginia May "Virgie" or "Ginny" (b. 1915; d. 2000) and Charles Thurman (b. 1916; d. 1956)--a son, Ruby A (b. 1912), died in 1915.

Linnie gave birth to eight more children during her marriage to Ben. That includes: Earl Franklin (b. 1927; d.1993), Edward Eugene "Gene" (b. 1929), William Franklin "Bill" (b. 1931; d.2017), Lorene Lovella "Rene" (b. 1934; d.2009), Gladys Mae (b. 1936; d. 2001), Eunice (b. 1938), J.C. [not an abbreviation for anything] (b. 1940; d.2011) and Naomi Ruth "Ruthie" (b. 1944).

Aside from Arkansas, Ben and Linnie lived in various places during their marriage including Missouri and possibly New Mexico for a short time. Eventually, the couple settled their family in Dallas, (Polk Co.) Oregon and remained their until Ben's death.

Benjamin preceded Linnie in death on 16 November 1969 and was laid to rest in the Dallas Cemetery there in Dallas, (Polk Co.) Oregon.

A couple of years after Ben's death, Linnie moved to Copperas Cove, (Coryell Co.) Texas to be near her youngest child's family. She remained there until her own passing.

Linnie followed Ben in death on 22 May 1985 while a resident of the Wind Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Copperas Cove. Her remains were shipped back to Dallas, (Polk Co.) Oregon and a lovely funeral service was held at 2 pm on 24 May 1985 at the Bollman Mortuary there. She was laid to rest a couple of days later in the Dallas Cemetery right next to Ben.

[**As of July 2017, three of their children were still living: Gene, Eunice and Naomi.**]
