Daniel Andrews
Word reached Grinnell relatives and friends the first of the week of the death at his home in Long Beach, California, of Daniel Andrews, the father of Mrs. W.S. Sanders, of Grinnell vicinity. A telegram received Saturday at the Sanders home announced that Mr. Andrews was very ill with acute indigestion and threatened with apoplexy; the next word received announced his death on Sunday night. Mr. Andrews was buried on Tuesday in Long Beach, beside his wife, who died two years ago. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. W.W. Sanders, Mrs. Charles Sanders, of Modesto, California; Margaret, who teaches physical culture in Mills College in California, and who reached her father's side before the end, Mrs. Bert Hobbs, of Sioux City, and Ruth, who has been with her father. The Andrews family lived for several years in Grinnell in the house at the south end of East street now occupied by Howard Sanders. They moved west five or six years ago. Many friends have received the news of Mr. Andrews' death with sincere regret.
