Rachell A. McLearn, born Sept. 9 1827, daughter of Hugh McLearn and Elizabeth Sanford.

Joseph Williams and Rachel McLearn married on 18 February 1858 at Hants County


Marriage Bond record at the Nova Scotia Archives: Joseph Williams, a Farmer, and John McLearn, both of Rawdon, County of Hants, posted a marriage bond on 18 February 1858. The bond shows that Joseph Williams was a Bachelor and that Rachel McLearn, of Rawdon, was a Spinster. Their marriage license was to be directed to the Reverend J. N. Bentley, a Baptist Minister in Halifax, Halifax County.


"Canada, British Columbia Death Registrations, 1872-1986; 1992-1993", shows that Rachael Anne Williams, Female, died in Clayton, British Columbia, Canada on 5 April 1898. She was born in Hants Co., Nova Scotia. She was 70 years old (born about 1828).

Rachel A. Williams (Nee Lester)

Was born in Turio Novs Scotia and lived there until she met & married Joseph on June 15th 1850. They lived in Halilton Ont. where Joseph worked as a Civil Servant until the 1870s when they came to British Columbia. Joseph took a Job in the Lands office and later Post Master of Cloverdale BC.

Rachel had been ill with consuption for several years and in Dec. 1897 she took very ill and Died on April 5th 1898 of the disease. Joseph's grief was so much that he followed her to the grave less than two months later. They are buried together in the Old Surrey Central Cemetery.
