Rudolph Moe
Rudolph Moe was born Dec. 28th, 1871 at Chicago, Ill,. and died at his home north of Scandia July 7th, 1920 at the age of 48 years, six months and nine days. In 1876 he moved with his parents to Scandia, Kansas where he resided until his death. On March 1897 he was united in marriage to Lillie Ida Wholford who died May 24th 1916. To this union were born six children, Ralph, Stanley, Theodore, Rudolph, Edna and Donald. He is survived by his six children, two brothers, Albert and Fred Moe, one sister Mrs. J.R. Stofer and aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Moe.
He joined the odd Fellows Lodge when 21 and the Woodman at the age of 30.
Mr. Moe will be greatly missed not only in his home but among his many friends, as he himself was a good friend and neighbor, and a very devoted father. For several years he had poor health but little did he complain but instead he wore a pleas-smile (sic) for all whom he met. By his death Republic County has lost one of its esteemed citizens and the bereaved family and relatives have the sincerest sympathy of their many friends in this time of their great sorrow.
The funeral service was conducted at his home Friday afternoon by Rev. R.L. Cortner. Burial was made in the River View Cemetery. The Odd Fellow and Woodman Lodges participated in the Funeral Ceremony.
