Entering the Pontifical Roman Seminary in order to study for the priesthood, his fellow seminarians and professors remained impressed with his vivid, yet pious, humble, and modest character.
Stricken down by meningitis, Bruno passed away during the summer of 1938, at the young age of 23, while reciting the words, «Mater mea, fiducia mea».
On October 21, 1949, Cardinal Giovanni Battista Nasalli Rocca had the remains of the young cleric transferred from the Certosa of Bologna to the Cathedral of St. Peter where they lie to this day.
