Joel was the son of David C. and Abigail (Long) Allen. He married Emma Gilliland on May 18, 1893 in Blair, NE. They were the parents of Ethel, William, Mabel, Delbert, and Irene. Emma died in 1906. He married Zora T. Brunton on July 29, 1907 in Omaha, NE. They were the parents of Mary, Joel jr, Abigail, Gilford, Wilford and Vanola and David.

Funeral services will be held' Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Campbell Mortuary for Joel T. Allen, 86 years of age, of 1704 State St., who died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital. The Rev. Dale Anderson of the Christian Church will officiate with interment in Blair Cemetery. Mr. Allen was born November 8, 1873 in Iowa and has resided in Blair for many years.
Mr. Allen is survived by six daughters. Mrs. Mary Jones of Blair, Mrs. Abigail Williamson of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Vanola McPherson of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Ethel Moser of Fairfax, Missouri, Mrs. Mable Churchill of Bentley, Iowa, and Mrs. Irene Robinson of Council Bluffs; five sons, Wilford and Delbert of Blair, William of Council Bluffs, David of Daly City, California and Gilford of Bakersfield, California; twenty-nine grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
