MONTICELLO, Mo. -- Everett Lee Cottrell Jr., 77, of Country Aire Retirement Estates, formerly of Monticello, died Thursday (April 28, 2011), in Country Aire.

Junior was born on Nov. 20, 1933, in rural Lewis County Missouri, a son of Everett Lee COTTRELL Sr., and Anna Marie DEHNER COTTRELL. He married Anna Lee KING on Nov. 16 1957, at Methodist Parsonage in Monticello. She died Feb. 3, 2007.

Junior attended Monticello Schools and was a member of the Monticello Community Church.

Junior served in the Unites States Army from January 1955 to December 1962, serving one year abroad in Japan as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne.

He was employed by Gardner Denver as a service specialist traveling worldwide to service compressors until he retired in 1993. He bought and sold furs and worked in the hay fields after retirement. He loved to coon, deer, and coyote hunt, until his health would not allow him to any longer. He was a devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his 4 sons and 2 daughters; two brothers; three sisters; a brother-in-law; and a sister-in-law; 20 grandchildren and step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Marie COTTRELL; his wife Anna; and sisters Wanda Lou GRAVITT and Forest Rose MORGAN.

SERVICES: Davis Funeral Home, Canton,MO with the Rev. Gary Whitaker conducting. Burial will be in Little Mountain Cemetery, Monticello.
