Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Darnie-Bea "Bea" Harris, age 79, the former Darnie-Bea Monier, who passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 5:50 a.m. at her residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Harris grew up in St. Landry and lived in Lafayette Parish for most of her life. She was employed as an Assistant Vice President for lending with Guaranty Bank in Lafayette for many years. Mrs. Harris was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro.

Survivors include her husband of fifty nine years, Andrew D. Harris, of Carencro; one son, Shawn "Pat" Harris of Carencro; two daughters, Susan Sarkies and her husband, Joseph, and Stephanie Harris, all of Carencro; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ferrall Keith Monier and his wife ,Pat, of Baton Rouge and Kerry Dwayne Monier of Opelousas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo Monier and the former Carrie Guillory, both natives of St. Landry; one son, Michael Harris; one daughter, Susan Ann Harris; and one brother, Belvin James Monier.

Pallbearers will be Shawn "Pat" Harris, Kerry Monier, Ferrall Keith Monier, Joe Sarkies, Alton Barras and Shane Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Guidry and Chris Guidry.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements
