Major League Baseball Player. Born in Shabbona Grove, Illinois, he was a left handed pitcher making his debut with the Chicago Cubs on April 16, 1912. For six seasons, he played with the Chicago Cubs (1912-16) and St. Louis Cardinals (1917). He concluded his career with a record of 36 wins, 27 losses, 26 complete games, 5 shutouts, 1 save, 260 strikeouts and a 3.10 earned run average. He died at age 47 in Joliet, Illinois.
