Frank Kraljic, 64, Minot, died Monday, November 28, 2005, in a Minot hospital of cancer.

Frank was born December 4, 1940 in Brest, Slovenia, the son of John and Agnes (Smole) Kraljic. In March of 1950 he immigrated with his parents to Minot, North Dakota, where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 1960.

He entered the United States Army January 13, 1961 and served with the 5th Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was honorably discharged January 10, 1964 and he returned to North Dakota. In 1965 he began employment with Civil Service at the Minot Air Force Base. He worked on the B-52 Docks, the Grounds and Maintenance Crew and the Paint Shop for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1997.

Frank was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, ND, and the Holy Name Society of the church. He enjoyed the outdoors and the times spent with his brother and nephews out in the field hunting. Frank loved canoeing and canoed the Little Missouri River, covering the extent of the river in North Dakota several times. He also made several canoe trips into Canada. Frank enjoyed gardening and he also liked spending time outdoors looking for fossils and rocks. He was the kind of person that was always available to help neighbors, family and friends. Frank was a strong supporter of Bishop Ryan High School and he enjoyed attending his nieces and nephews activities while they attended school. Frank was an honest man, and his own man, and he did things his own way.
