Benton Paul Larousse, 82, a native and resident of Mathews, died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois Legendre Larousse; five sons, Ferrel Larousse and wife, Carolyn, Jody Larousse and wife, Christine, Kyle Larousse and wife, Donna, Neal Larousse and wife, Inez, and Todd Larousse and wife, Jennifer; two daughters, Faye Pertuit and husband, James, and Tina Plaisance; his daughter-in-law, Peggy Larousse; two brothers, Nilton Larousse and Vanton Larousse; one sister, Rita Delatte; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louisiana Plaisance Larousse; one son, Kevin Larousse; one daughter, Lila Larousse; seven brothers, Joseph Jr., Louis, Milton, Andre, Clifton, Victor, and Wilton Larousse; and two sisters, Irene Dufrene and Amanda Sevin.

He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post 3665.
