Leo Volkmer, 65, Dies at Home

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday for Leo Frank Volkmer, 65, who died Wednesday at his home, 213 Clay St. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. A. Vogelweid will officiate with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at a local funeral home.

He was born in Jefferson City, May 5, 1896, the son of Frank and Frances Neutzier Volkmer. He was married July 30, 1917 to Miss Sophia Klimas, who survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Angeline Dirckx, St Louis and Mrs. Eleanor Hughes, Kansas City; two sons, Donnie Volkmer, Dallas, Tex., and Billie Volkmer, Kansas City; three brothers, Paul Volkmer, Jefferson City, Frank Volkmer Mexico, and Alfred Volkmer, Fulton; four sisters, Mrs. Frieda Wallace, Kansas City, Mrs. Selma Schultz and Mrs. Louise Adams, both of Jefferson city, and Mrs. Rose Howard, Omaha, Neb.,; and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Volkmer was an employee of International Shoe Co. for 45 years and for the past three years has been employed in the clothing department at Missouri State Penitentiary.
