The land this cemetery is located on, is within the farm land that was owned by the Drake family for over 104 years. Sam was born on this land and lived there off and on for many years, retiring in 1982 and dying in 1995.The land was sold in 2002 but cemetery section is county owned.

Sam Allen Drake, age 74 of Hamilton, died Tuesday, July 25, 1995 at his residence. Graveside services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Little Cowhouse Cemetery in Hamilton Co. Mr. Drake was born November 9, 1920 in Hamilton Co. Texas. He was the son of Rev. and Mrs. S. M. Drake. Mrs. Drake was the former Mamie Bloodworth.

Mr Drake was a steel draftsman and a farmer. He moved back to Hamilton in 1981 from Albuquerque, New Mexico.He was a Baptist. On July 13, 1941 he was united in marriage to Mildred DeHart.

Survivors:wife: Mildred DeHart Drake; Four children: Sarah Drake Bone and husband, Tony; Alton Earl Drake and wife Merajen; Mildred Ruth Drake Damewood and husband, and Sam Allen Drake, Jr. and wife Janis; A sister, Mary Helen Drake Pax. Seven grandchildren; Michael Anthony Bone and wife Donna, Ronnie Wayne Bone and wife Tandy, Rhea Ann Drake Unger and husband John, De Drake Jarrett and husband John, Greg Drake and Melissa Drake, Kristi Drake and Brittany Drake. Seven great grandchildren; David Michael Bone, Stacie Leigh and Jason Parker Bone, Cory Weathers, Kaila Unger, Dakota Unger and Tommy Jarrett.

Sam Allen Drake, 74, died Tuesday, July 25 at his residence. Graveside services were Saturday July 29, at the Little Cowhouse Cemetery with Rev. Bill Johnson, officiating. Mr. Drake was born Nov. 9, 1920 in Hamilton Co. Texas, the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. S. M. (Mary Ann Bloodworth) Drake. He was a structural steel draftsman and farmer. He was married to Mildred DeHart on July 13, 1941. He moved back to Hamilton in 1981. He was a Baptist and an ordanined deacon and sunday school teacher. He was ordained as a deason in 1943.

Born Nov. 9, 1920 to Samuel M. and Mary Ann Bloodworth Drake, he married the former Mildred DeHart on July 13, 1941 in Hamilton co.Mr. Drake was a structural steel draftsman and farmer. He attended Baylor University and Howard Payne College.
