Theodore Tate(no middle name)was born in Gordon Co. Georgia,the son of Evan Calloway and Elizabeth Campbell Tate. After his mother's death in 1870, the Tate family moved to Texas. They settled in an area south of Ft. Worth that later was called Tate Springs. In 1880, Theodore married Burah Lou Craig, daughter of Jonathan B. and Lucinda Watson Craig. They moved to Stonewall Co. and then to Jackson Co. After his wife's death, Theodore moved his family to Montgomery Co. and then to Live Oak Co. He lived in George West for the remained of his life. He was a farmer.
