Her parents were Charles F. Heidel Jr. and Katherine L. Shroder. Matilda married Augustus Crone on 9-27-1864, in Memphis. They had three children before he died of yellow fever in 1873. Augustus' last name was changed from Grauna to Crone when he arrived in the U.S. at age 7. Their three children:
Charles Augustus Crone (w. Alice Demaris Browne)
Erma Crone
Robert Grauna (he changed Crone back to Grauna)

Matilda remarried William Hardie in Santa Clara,CA on 9/3/1880 and had two sons
William Hardie
Dr. Wallace B. Hardie
