Mrs. Ivens was born March 23, 1869, in Forsyth, a daughter of John G. and Emma Cox Bassler.
Mrs. Ivens lived in Decatur for 10 years, coming from Radford, Ill.
She was married to Will Ivens. He died in 1946. The couple was married 74 years.
She leaves three foster children, Mrs. Elsie Brown, Mrs. Anna Kelcher and Charles Munch, all of Detroit; two brothers, Albert Bassler of Moweaqua and Edgar Bassler of Los Angeles, Calif. and 20 foster grandchildren.
Mrs. Ivens was a member of the First Methodist church.
Services at Dawson & Wikoff funeral home with burial in Macon County Memorial Park.
