Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011, at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Fannie Clark Lasseigne, 104, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, JCL, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Dennis Morgan. A Poem will be read by Brenda Broussard. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "On Eagles' Wings", "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings" for the services.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucille Huval and Mary Melancon; three grandchildren, Peggy Breaux and her husband Glenn, Travis Morgan and his wife Mary and Dennis Morgan; six great grandchildren, Brandon Breaux and his wife Mitzi, Maggie Darby and her husband Steve, Heather McBride and her husband Sam, Brittany Morgan, Devin Morgan and Ethan Morgan; and five great great grandchildren, Haydan Breaux, Bailey Breaux, Brodie Breaux, Dakota Breaux and Allie Lynn Darby.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Nelson; second husband, Marcel Charles Lasseigne; her parents, Joseph and Sarah Hollingsworth Clark; one brother, Leon Clark; one sister, Anita Clark Poole; two half-brothers, Barney Clark and Allie Clark; one half-sister, Callie Castine Clark Johnson; one great grandson, Charles James Morgan; three son-in-laws, Alley Huval, Wilfred Melancon and Travis H. Morgan; and one granddaughter-in-law, Vicki Boudreaux Morgan.
A resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Fannie was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. She was also an amazing cook and took pleasure in cooking for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Fannie will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Sam McBride, Ethan Morgan, Michael "Mike" Clark and Irvin Clark.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Travis Morgan and Dennis Morgan.
