We have no proof of Rebecca's birthplace. Some censuses show born in PA and some show IN. We believe she was born in Indiana County, PA due to various documents.

She married Anthony Houk, Sr., on March 20, 1846 in Stark County, OH. They had ten known children.

Rebecca and Anthony moved to Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH by 1870 census and were divorced in Tiffin in March 1871. Rebecca remained in Tiffin with some of her children and then moved back to Massillon, OH and lived with one of her married daughters until her death.

Mrs. Rebecca Houk, aged 78 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Frantz, 22 Jarvis avenue, Friday, of asthma. Mrs. Houk had been ill just one week. She is survived by the following children: William, George and John Houk, and Mrs. George Frailey of Tiffin, Joseph, Anthony and Gottfried Houk, Mrs. George Frantz and Mrs. Nicholas Frantz of Massillon, and Mrs. Frantz of Canton. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Rebecca Houk was held from St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock Monday morning, the Rev. H. V. Kaempker officiating. The pall bearers were Mrs. Houk's six sons, Joseph, Anthony, William, George, Gottfried and John Houk
