Sarah Randle Obituary:

Sister Sarah Randle was born Jan 21, 1790, and died May 28, 1872. She joined the Church in early life, and was a consistent uniform Methodist till death. She was the mother of a large family of children, and was permitted to bring up most of them to the estate of manhood and womanhood-and was greatly rejoiced to know that all her living children, and many of her grandchildren were members of the Church at the time of her departure. In her early married life and mature years, she was subject to the trials and incidents peculiar to those who live in new, unsettled portions of the country, yet she at all times maintained the character of a pure, good woman. As a wife she was faithful and true, aiding her husband in the work of training souls for God-as a mother she was loving and kind, binding her children to her with "hooks of steel"-as a neighbor she was "given to hospitality"-as a member of the Church she was consistent, constant, uniform. Her house was open to ministers-with they found a home, and she so trained her family that her children honor those who minister in holy things. During the last year of her life her pastor administered to her twice the emblems of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus. This service she enjoyed greatly-it was a feast of fat things to her soul, and was looked upon each time as her last communion with the Church militant. She went up to God from Lowndes Co., Miss., and from the Church in Artesia.
