Funeral services were held at Clagg Funeral Chapel August 5 for Roland Tankersley, 71, who died August 3 at Sulphur. Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Dewain Duck officiated. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with arrangements by Clagg Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 25, 1911 at Sulphur he had spent most of his life there. He married Nellie Faye Ross on May 23, 1939 at Sulphur. She preceded him in death Oct. 25, 1968. He was a retired painter for the Oklahoma Veteran Center, retired in 1975.
Survivors include a sister, Delores Lampkin, of Sulphur and several cousins and other relatives.
