Mrs. Abbie Ellen Frey, widow of Asaby Frey, died at her home at Stockwell, Monday morning at 4 o'clock after a year's illness. Born in Clinton county, January 25, 1865, she was the daughter of Daniel and Catherine Smith. She married Mr. Frey on September 22, 1883. Ten children were born. Mr. Frey died five years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. Mary Thompson, Clark's Hill; John Frey, Rural Route M; Alva Rural Route G; Harry, Detroit; Elmer, Lawrence; Dorothy and Margaret, living at the old home; Mrs. Sylvia Harrison, Rural Route E; Mrs. Hazel Loveless, Stockwell.
Mrs. Frey was a member of the Stockwell Methodist, Episcopal church, had a wide acquaintance and was held in esteem. The funeral will be conducted from the family home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Meredith of North Vernon officiating, assisted by Rev. Smith. Burial in Fair Haven cemetery.
