Married 12 Feb,1736 in Gloucester County, NJ to Christina Halton; Emigrated from Ireland to West Jersey (NJ) before 1736, schoolmaster in the Woolwich and Raccoon Creek area of Gloucester County, NJ, at least from 1743; perhaps because he was literate, he was a witness to a great many Wills in Gloucester County; he helped finance the Oldmans Creek church building in 1754; he was considered the best Reader and Singer of the Oldmans Creek Moravian church congregation; he also was a frequent correspondent by letter and in person with the Synod headquarters in Bethlehem, PA; owned 120 acres plus 2 lots in Raccoon Creek twp; a Negro man of his, Quamini, was married to a Negro woman in the Oldmans Creek Moravian church 1782; Will dated 4 Sep 1777 and proved at Woodbury NJ 28 Oct 1783; both he and Christina may have become Quakers.
