Maxine Smith Lane, 86, of Moreland died Sunday, November 15, 2009. Born December 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James Carroll and Lizzie Lucas Smith. She was retired from Palm Beach after 42 years. She was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church where she served as secretary for 22 years and enjoyed working in the kitchen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lane.
Survivors include her two daughters: Judy (Michael) Gaddis of Greenwood, LA and Yolanda (Dale) Estes of New Salem; one son, Michael Terry Lane of Danville; three sisters: Frances Russell of Danville, Shirlie Coleman of Fairfield, OH and Murrell Durham of Yosemite; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 A. M., Thursday, at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Mike Mullins with burial at Middleburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Barry Smith, Zeke Smith, Greg Morris, Jimmy Gaddis, Wendell Smith and Samuel Key. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Gaddis and Dale Estes.
