Obituary:
"Mrs. Charles Currie. Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Almira Currie, widow of the late Charles Currie and a life long resident of this area, who died here Saturday night, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Courser chapel. Rev. J. Wilbur Curry conducted the rites. Burial was in Sunset cemetery.
Mrs. Currie was 84 years of age. Her death occurred at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary hospital. She had been ill since June 9. Born Dec. 29, 1869 in the Carnahan Creek community of Pottawatomie County, she moved to Manhattan 46 years ago in the year '08. Her late husband had farmed until a year prior to his death, having entered in the hardware business in Manhattan.

Mrs. Currie was a member of the United Presbyterian church, the XFW club and Kansas State College Faculty Mothers club. She leaves four sons: Ray G. Currie, Westmoreland; Ralph A. Currie, 910 Humboldt, Manhattan; Clyde W. Currie, Route 2; Clifford W. Currie, Wichita; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Howenstine, Route 5; Mrs Beth Frierson, Chatanooga, Tenn.; Mrs. Eula Mae Kelly, formerly of the K-State extension service, now of Topeka; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Those serving as pallbearers at the services Tuesday were Roy G. Currie Jr., Emporia; Ralph A. Currie Jr., Fred Germann, Bill Knox and Ward Griffing, all of Manhattan; Lester Gilliford, Olsburg."
