Simon Bear, age 51, died July 8, at his home at West Peavine following a lengthy illness. He was a world war veteran and has been a deacon in the Baptist church for several years and was a devoted Christian. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lydia Bear and four children: Merinda, Wattie, Lewis, and Bernice; two brothers, Oscar of Peavine and Johnson of Arkansas City, Kansas and one sister, Polly of Cedar Tree. Funeral services and burial was at the Tyler Springs cemetery. Burial was under the direction of the Roberts funeral home.
