Born in Farmingville, LA (nolonger exists). Second wife of Rev. Lester Martian McKay. (My foster Grandmother) who kept a tight run ship, gardened and found time to knit and sew. She was taught to read by her mother who used the Bible. Her most memorble saying was - "If I can learn to Read English from the Bible, you sure can learn your mother's tounge in which it was written."
She was Offically 101 years old - but the family Bible noted her as born in 1890, But it was written in the Bible brought for her to learn to read that was published in 1899.
