Albert E. Hohenstein Sr., of 312 Apple Orchard Road, died at 3:02 p.m. Monday at his residence. He was the son of John and Emily Brown Hohenstein. He was married to Ellen C. Gibbons in 1910. A lifetime resident of Springfield, Mr. Hohenstein was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jerome, died Oct. 18, 1962 and a sister, Jeanette C. McGrath, preceded him in death Feb. 5, 1978. Surviving are his wife, Ellen C.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Warner of Arlington, Va.; three sons, Vincent and Albert Edward Hohenstein, Jr., both of Springfield, John A. Hohenstein of Peco Rivera, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren,; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
