SHREVEPORT, LA - Services to honor the life of Mr. Donald L. Gross, 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mr. Wayne Fussell, Minister of Midway Church of Christ, assisted by Mr. Bobby Cunningham, Minister of Queensboro Church of Christ. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Friday evening between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donald was born in Maryville, MO to the late Frank and Margurite Gross. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged after ten years as SSgt. While in the Air Force, he was a B-58 Chief Mechanic and proudly held the name "Wild Goose". Donald was also proud of his academic accomplishments which included two years of college following his GED. Not only was he a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he was also a Ret. Lt. with the Shreveport Police Dept. His family and friends will miss all of his stories and the good times they shared.

Donald was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Peters, Rita Gross, and Rosemary Gross; three brothers, Steve, Bill, and Tony Gross; and his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Martha "Ann" Gross; son, Bert Gross; daughter, Cathy Olivier; sisters, Maryann Hogsett and husband, Russell, and Margaret Bears; brothers, Bob Gross, Eddie Gross, Tommy Gross and wife, Anna, and Harold Gross; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Billy Walden, Raymond Gaines, Billy Woods, Parker Ward, Jerry Tettleton, and Bob Burton.
