Statesboro - Mrs. Eubie Brannen Anderson, age 93, died Sunday under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was born August 6, 1913. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pleasant Burton and Daisy Akins Brannen, her husband, John Rufus Anderson, whom she was married to in 1935 and five brothers and four sisters. Having graduated from Statesboro High School and Georgia Teachers College (Georgia Southern University), she taught school for several years in the Nevils and Westside Communities. She then became a wife, mother and homemaker until 1964 when she filled the unexpired term of her late husband as Bulloch County Clerk of Superior Court. She served in this office for 16 years and retired in 1980. Mrs. Anderson was first and foremost a devoted wife to her husband, a loving mother to her daughters, and a special Gran and Great Gran to her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church for over 60 years where she taught children's Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Eubie was a cherished friend to all who knew her. She possessed dignity, inner strength, warmth and cheerfulness. She will be missed greatly.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.
