Howard Echo Hawk, a Pawnee Indian, one of the scouts who served under Maj. Frank North in his campaign against the Sioux following the massacre of Custer's command at Big Little Horn, died at his home near Pawnee, Thursday, March 13.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Thomas D. New at the Indian Baptist Church and the body was interred in South Indian Cemetery.
Echo Hawk, 69 years of age, died March 6th.
