Charles Burton, 51, of Near Ashland, Dies: Long Illness
Charles Burton 51 of near Ashland died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his mother Mrs. Mary L. Burton, Ashland, following a long illness.
He was a patient in Springfield Memorial hospital frequently during the past few months.
His father, Minter Burton, died three weeks ago.
The body was removed to the Lintner Funeral Home Chandlerville where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Vern Gerdes will officiate. Burial will be in Newmansville cemetery north of Ashland.
[Survivors include] mother Mrs. Mary Lou Burton, wife Opal, two daughters, Miss Charlotte and Miss Mary Burton, all of Ashland, one son Frank with the army in Texas, two brothers Gordon Burton of Pana and Henry Burton of Chicago and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Harmon of Cincinnati Ohio and Mrs. Bertha Sullivan of Shelbyville Ind.
