Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, 1987 at 3:00 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church, Cushing, for Willis Dyer, Jr. Willis died May 29, 1987 in the Drumright Memorial Hospital.
Officiating were Don Couch, Frank Cargill and Phil Webb. Music was provided by Sue Schaefer and Kay Couch. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Grady, Gene Brady, Bill Candler, Mark Doak, Bill Ledgerwood and Johnny Malernee. Honorary pallbearers were employees of the Cimarron Pipeline Construction Company.
Willis Dyer, Jr., was born June 10, 1926 in Drumright and had made his home here all of his life. Willis and his wife, Odessa, were united in marriage on December 10, 1950 in Drumright. Willis had served on the Oak Grove School Board for 15 years, was Past-President of the Drumright Rotary Club and was active on the First Assembly of God Church Board. Willis was a longtime employee of the Cimarron Pipeline Construction Company, Drumright. He was proceded in death by his mother, Allie Marie Dyer.
He is survived by his wife, Odessa, of the home, three sons, Ron Dyer, Cushing, Randy Dyer, Mannford and Russell Dyer of Drumright. His father and step-mother, W.W. and Iona Dyer, Drumright. Two brothers, Gene Dyer, Healdton, Ok., and Ray Dyer, Yale, Ok. Two step-sisters, June Fritz and Alberta Bonebrake. One grandson and three granddaughters.
Interment was in the Oakhill Cemetery, Drumright, with funeral arrangements under the direction of the Don Smith Funeral Home
