Magdalene Simonpietri Mooney, age 97, of Culpeper, Va. passed away in Autumn Care of Madison, Monday, May 30, 2011. Magdalene was born to August Simonpietri and Alma Domici, December 31, 1913 in Richmond, Va.

She was one of the first licensed LPN's and owned and operated Sunset Haven in Griffinsburg, Va.

Surviving Mrs. Mooney is her daughter, Rose Delano of Fredericksburg, Va. and her grandchildren, Robert Michael Delano, Deborah Rene' Houchins, Mary Janine McCarty and Christina Denise Hall . Also, she has sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 East Edmondson Street Culpeper, Va. with Father Leo Zonneveld conducting the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Christian Wake service at 6 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Epiphany Catholic School, 114 East Edmondson Street, Culpeper, VA 22701. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701.
