Elizabeth Klemmer was married to Henry Kuhns on November 19, 1848, at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Bally. They relocated to Reading around in 1867.
They had 12 children. Lucinda Kuhns Swoyer (1849-1900); Mary Jane Kuhns Mack (1851-1924); John Kuhns (1852-1917); James H. Kuhns (1854-1944); Ambrose Kuhns (1855-1930); Sarah E Kuhns Henry (1857-1946); Edward S. Kuhns (1858-1862); Caroline Margaret Kuhns (1860-1862); Catherine Kuhns Weisser (1862-1886); Henry Kuhns (1864-1916); Elizabeth "Lizzie" Saylor (1865-1929); and Franklin Kuhns (1869-1938).
Elizabeth died on October 17, 1898, in Reading and was buried at Saint Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
MRS. HENRY KUHNS, Elizabeth, widow of Henry Kuhns, died of a complication of diseases on Tuesday afternoon, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Saylor, 1133 Oley, aged 75 years, 9 months and 25 days. Deceased had been ill five months and was bedfast five weeks. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. David Swoyer, of this city; Mrs. Jane Mack, of Manayunk; Mrs Sallie Henry of Wissahickon; Mrs Harry Saylor, of this city; John, of Philadephia; James, Ambrose, Henry and Frank.
