Sophia was married three times.

First to Walton Reed on 11 Dec 1906 in Cisne, Wayne County, Illinois. Walton passed away 8 days after their marriage.

Her second marriage was to Hugh Noble Barker. They had three children: Goldia [aka Maysell] (Barker) Bowden [1910-2005], Fredia (Barker) Keeling [1914-1999] and Opal [aka Maxine] (Barker) Longendorf [1916-2008].

After his death in 1924, she married William Milton Bowden. It does not appear that they had any children together although Freda and Maxine were living with them in the 1930 census along with his son, Milton Cuba, and his wife (Maysell Goldia) and children. William's death and burial are unknown at this time. According to her death certificate, Sophia is buried in Oaklawn, Thornton, Cook County, Illinois.

Sophia, daughter of Jacob and Caroline Miller, was born April 22, 1882 in Mt. Erie and died May 13, 1940 in Harvey, Illinois. She married H.N. Barker March 1918. They had 3 girls. He died May 15, 1924. She was second married to William Bowden September 8, 1925. She leaves her husband and three girls: Mrs. Maysell Bowdon, Ms. Fredia Keeling and Maxine Longendorf, all of Harvey, Illinois. Named step children, 2 sisters and one brother. Funeral at Harvey, Illinois.
