Memorial sevices for Darlene Harper, 71, of Denver City was conducted on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Everett officiating. Services were under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.
Mrs. Harper passed away June 5, 2011. She was born March 11, 1940 in Sudan, Texas. She married Wayne Harper December 8, 1972 in Lovington, New Mexico.
During her working career, Darlene was office manager for Pool Well Service for many years. She was then employed with Denver City ISD as an Administrative Secretary and later owned Darlene's Dress Shop for five years before retiring. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Yoakum County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and the First United Methodist Church.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charlie Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Harper; three daughters, Kristi Dyer, Diane Clark and Cathy Loyd, all of Denver City; a son, Joe Harper of Andrews; a sister, Faye Gafford; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
