Ovella Perkins Andrews passed away June 5, 2011, at Park Manor Nursing Home.

The daughter of Sylvester and Jewell Perkins, she was born September 19, 1930, in Crossville, Alabama, where she graduated from Crossville High School and attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Andrews moved to Tuscaloosa in 1947 and lived with other young women in rooms of a home on 13th Street owned by Dr. Hassell. She worked at Nottingham Printing Company, where she met her future husband, Jack Andrews, who was attending the University of Alabama and doing artwork for the printing company.

After her children were up in school, Mrs. Andrews worked at The Little Gallery, and then in 1970 founded Picture This frame shop and gallery. Her life was filled each day with the joy of visiting with and serving her many friends who came into Picture This. She and Jack were active members of Forest Lake Baptist Church throughout their lives in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her daughter, Ruby Laloni; her son, Mike; her parents; and her brother, Billy Joe Perkins of Uvalde, Texas.

She is survived by her brother, Garey Perkins (Banks) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her sons, Jim (Dee) and Lee (Susie Smith); her daughter-in-law, Becky; her grandchildren, Amanda Broyles, Mark, Angie White, Kristy Acker (Billy), Aaron, Emily, Jackson, and Jonathon; and her great-grandchildren, Brennan, Parker, and Carson White, and Ethan and Emma Kate Acker.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Forest Lake Baptist Church Building Fund.
