Ervin E Tynan, 83, of Toppenish, WA died June 1, 2011 in Yakima, WA. Ervin was born August 3, 1927 in Roosevelt, WA to John Charles and Vera Opal (Kelley) Tynan.

Ervin joined the U.S. Army November 3, 1950. He served in the Korean Conflict, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and other badges and medals. Ervin then served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1956. He married Patricia Hooker in 1955, together they had five children. On August 6, 1966, he married Lillian Arquette Ough. Ervin worked as a ranch hand in the Yakima Valley and the Bickleton area. Ervin owned his own trucking business and also drove truck for others. He retired after working several years for Washington Beef.

Ervin is survived by sons Earl (Johnie) Tynan, Zillah, WA; Jesse (Susie) Tynan, Zillah, WA; daughters Iris Leeper, Idaho Falls, ID; Suzy (Rick) Palmer, Idaho Falls, ID; Vera Heath, Idaho Falls, ID; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Docia Dutro, Nampa, ID and Violet McLean, Post Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, siblings Charlie, Delphine, Gertrude, Ernest "Red", Delbert and Emma Marie, and three stepsons.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Merritt Funeral Home, 218 W. Third St, Wapato, WA 98951.

Burial will follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park.
