Jean L. Stevenson

Jean Leone Stevenson, age 81, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on Monday evening, June 6, 2011, at her home.
Jean was born on July 1, 1929, in Rudyard, Michigan to the late Earl and Loretta (Kaestner) Ufland. On March 9, 1946 Jean married George W. Stevenson. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Jean enjoyed going to the casino. In her earlier, healthier years she enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and dancing. She also enjoyed watching birds at her feeders. She collected teddy bears, dolls and had an interest in antiques.
Jean is survived by her five daughters: Darlene (John) Warren of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Linda (Cleve) Sullivan of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Laurie (Dale) Scott of O'Fallon, MO, Deanna (Denny) Suggitt of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Patty (Todd) Sauro of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; eight grandchildren: Leann (Shane) Thompson, Ty Jones, Christopher Krell, Robert Sullivan, Kalee and Kelly Scott, Jake and Shaina Sauro; and two great grandchildren: Kylie and Shane Thompson. She is also survived by two brothers: Robert and Glen Ufland both of Florida; two sisters: Marion (Andy) Andre and Judy Groseclose of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband: George W. Stevenson; father: Earl Ufland; mother: Loretta (Kaestner) Ufland Perron; and a sister: Florence Martz.
According to Jean's wishes, a private memorial service was held with interment at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
Donations made to the Autism Foundation of Michigan at 3735 Tanglewood Court, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105-9575, in honor of Jean Stevenson, would be greatly appreciated.
