Professional Football Player. For thirteen seasons (1959 to 1970), he played at the defensive-tackle and tackle positions in the National Football League with the Los Angeles Rams, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals. Born Paul Serafin Dickson, he played collegiate football at Baylor University before he was signed by the Rams during the 1st round of the 1959 NFL Draft. He was a member of the Cowboys' squad during their inaugural year of 1960 and was part of Minnesota's roster as they was introduced to the league in 1961. While with the Vikings, Dickson anchored their defensive line along with Jim Marshall, Carl Eller, Gary Larsen and Alan Page. They played a significant role in propelling Minnesota to their appearance in Super Bowl IV in 1970. He concluded his career with the Cardinals in 1971 after compiling 152 regular season games. Following his football career, he worked in sales, marketing and customer relations for computer and technical companies. He died from a blood infection.
