Burnace "Bunk" Stevens, age 91, of Sandy Hook, Ky., passed away Thursday evening June 09, 2011, at Elliott Co. Nursing & Rehab Center.

Mr Stevens was born November 12, 1919, in Elliott County, Ky., a son of the late Isaac and Cynthia Hamilton Stevens.

Bunk was a farmer, a Christian and a World War II veteran.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of twenty one years, Amanda Mae Smith Stevens; two brothers, Earl Ray Stevens and Chester Stevens; one sister, Elsie Stevens King; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Weddington Stevens; two brothers-in-law, Isaac Gibson and Hasson Clevenger.

He is survived by five brothers and sisters-in-law, Emory and Thelma Stevens of New Albany, Indiana, Lester Stevens of Canton, Ohio, Addie Earl Stevens of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Herbert and Margaret Stevens of Haldeman, Kentucky, Junior Dale "Junie" and Loredia Stevens of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Bertha Gibson, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Enone and Edward Mays of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Alpha Stevens Clevenger of West Liberty, Kentucky, Christine Stevens of New Albany, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m Sunday, June 12, 2011, in the chapel of the Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Ky., with Bro. Kendall Brainard and Bro. Keith Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Family Cemetery on Wells Creek Road.

Friends may call after 11:00 a.m Sunday, June 12, 2011, until the service hour at the funeral home.

Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
