He was a member of Sheba lodge of Masons here.
Surviving are a half-brother, Rev. Marshall Stokes, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ford and Mrs. Sylvia Nash, all of Lantorn, Ga.
The funeral was held Saturday from the F. Leon Harris funeral home with Rev. Robert Harrington, assistant pastor of St. Paul Baptist church, Atlantic Highlands, officiating. Burial was in Crystal Stream cemetery.
