Edina Section Foreman Had Been in Poor Health for a Year or More.

W. O. Garrett, 61 years old and for thirty years section foreman on the O. K. Railroad, died at 6 o'clock this morning at his home here. He had been ill more than a year and more seriously so the last two months, death resulting from a complication of diseases.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed but the services will be at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, probably Saturday morning. Burial will be in the Linville cemetery.

Surviving are his wife and three children, Reta, Mrs. W. H. Watkins of Kansas City, Clarence Garrett, who is in the Navy, and Minnie, Mrs. J. A. Rose, of Edina. There are two grandchildren.

William Oliver Garrett was born in July, 1883, near Greencastle [sic], where he grew to manhood on a farm. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Garrett and was married Feb. 6, 1906. to Miss Myrtle Strait. They were the parents of four children, those who survive, and a daughter, Betty Lee, who died when small a few years ago.

Mr. Garrett and his family moved to Edina from Greencastle [sic] in 1921 and he had retired from work a year ago when his health failed.

Bill Garrett, a former Greencastle resident died at his home in Edina the morning of December 28 after a lingering illness of more than a year. He is survived by his wife and three children. Charlie Garrett, of Greencastle, is a brother.
